Mammut Element digital avalanche beacon

The Mammut Element Barryvox avalanche beacon combines the exceptional functionality and the ability to easily handle multiple burials from the Pulse Barryvox, but with a focus on extreme simplicity and ease of use.

Built in the same body as the PULSE Barryvox, the ELEMENT also includes an overview of distance and direction to victims and displays the number of signals being received. Digital Signal Processing (DSP) allows multiple burial scenarios to be easily handled even by first-time users.

The Digital 3-antenna device features single-button operation and a 100% icon-driven display while retaining the multiple-burial capability of the PULSE Barryvox beacon.

Like the PULSE Barryvox, the Element has an upgradeable platform and features Intelligent Group Check mode and a 200 hr battery life.

The ELEMENT Barryvox scores well on simple searches with clear instructions. Its single button operation and large display make the device very easy to use. Rapid, precise location, even with minimal training.

The simplified Element has a single button (versus two on the Pulse), an icon-only interface (versus textual messages on the Pulse), and will auto revert to transmit mode based on fixed time period (rather than a user-selected time period and motion as done by the Pulse).

The Element is digital only (the Pulse can toggle between analog and digital). The Element will list multiple victims on the screen, but it does not include the Pulse's ability to select specific victims.

The Element cannot sense motion to indicate which victims appear to be alive (as supported by the Pulse), and its direction indicator will not point behind you (a feature only available in the Ortovox S1 and the Pulse).

The Element has a range of 40-50 meters.
