Faction Skis

Founded in 2003, Faction has developed rider-centric technology. Instead of taking the traditional park, all-mountain, and powder definitions and building skis to fit, Faction takes riders input and builds skis to fit them. From this, they have developed a range of the most versatile skis on the market. Each ski is designed to perform in a variety of terrain and conditions, and built to last in Verbier, Switzerland.

The Faction Collective have made a commitment to the environment, and to reducing their impact on the environment over the entire life cycle of their products, to the recycling of old skis, to shipping, to office supplies and power. Faction has increased the use of bamboo for ski cores. Bamboo is light, strong and grows quicker than traditional woods, reducing the impact of large scale foresting. They have partnered with local environment groups such as www.sustainableseasons.org to help suggest what you can do to reduce your impact on the environment at your local resort.

Faction has introduced a pilot program in Verbier, Switzerland for the collection and recycling of old skis, any brand, any condition. The skis are taken apart, the steel edges melted down and sold back to industry to be re-forged. The rest of the skis are ground and used as concrete filler in local construction. Faction is currently in discussions with a firm in the USA to commence recycling here as well.
