Powder Skis
These skis are for the deepest days that keep you smiling long after the chairs stop spinning. Powder skis will plane and float allowing you to ski faster and harder in deep snow. Dedicated powder skis are usually 115+mm under boot with minimal camber. Camber is what pushes your tips and tails into the snow to help you carver turns. Obviously that is not what a good powder ski should do. Any amount of tip and tail rocker, combined with minimal camber will give you that surfing sensation that everyone is seeking. A proper pair of powder skis should be longer than your everyday skis. A longer ski is faster, more stable, and gives you more surface area to plow through and over the fresh snow. You don't ever want your undersized tips to dive on a pow day. That will turn a great day into a ski recovery mission real quick. You'll be skiing bell to bell with a pair of powder skis in your quiver.
